The wedding photos are done, and they look awesome.
You can check them out here. If you need the password, send me or Jackie an email, or use the Contact link on the right.
This is another great time to plug our awesome photographer, Erin Michelle. We would recommend her to anyone, and we would highly recommend getting the photo booth option. The pictures came out hilarious.
So the big day came and went. I have to say that everything turned out wonderfully, and we’re so glad that all of our guests could make it. We both hope that everyone had a good time.
Our awesome photographer, Erin Michelle, has a sneak peek of our pictures up at her blog. You should go check it out. We’ll have more details about pictures, and the ever popular photobooth, as we get them.
I decided to give everyone a sneak peak into my ensemble for the big day! I got these shoes at DSW and they are if course my favorite color……Purple! But if you want to see the rest…… you will just have to wait until October 3rd!
So we finally got around to writing the “Our Story” section. I received a lot of questions as to what was on the page before now. It’s called lorem ipsum:
In publishing and graphic design, lorem ipsum is the name given to commonly used placeholder text (filler text) to demonstrate the graphic elements of a document or visual presentation, such as font, typography, and layout. The lorem ipsum text, which is typically a non-sensical list of semi-Latin words, is a hacked version of a Latin text by Cicero, with words/letters omitted and others inserted, but not proper Latin
Anyway, the real deal is up now. We had a little bit of fun with it, so go check it out.
I can finally mark the cake off my to-do list. I took my whole family of cake lovers with me and spent a better part of the afternoon sampling the delicious creations of Busy B’s Bakery. I finally decided on white chocolate cake with a filling of fresh strawberries and champagne mousse, topped with white buttercream frosting. Not to worry all you chocolate lovers, my father and sister put up a quite a fight in favor of a chocolate layer. So one layer will have mocha cake with a dark chocolate ganache filling and white buttercream frosting. Next on our list…..the food!
So we managed to nail down quite a few things this weekend. We think we settled on a florist. We picked out my tux jacket and the vests for me and the groomsman. Jackie also nailed down her hair and make-up appointment. And, most importantly, we set our timeline for the wedding.
Show starts at 4:30pm.
Next up is the linens, the cake, and, my only solo job, the great cannoli hunt.
We’ve got a lot of stuff planned this weekend, so we should have some updates next week. We’ll be meeting with the venue to nail down our timeline, so we’ll actually have a start time for this shindig.
Also, I’ll be taking a peek at some tuxedos at Men’s Warehouse, and Jackie has scheduled a couple appointments with some florists. I’d also like to do some cannoli sampling, but I don’t know if we’ll have time.
As for the website, we’re still in the process of rolling it out. The location page looks pretty fleshed out (thanks choof). We spent a good hour at Bed Bath and Beyond today, so the I’m eyeing the registry page next. That should be done by Monday.
We settled on our photographer a while back. I think she’s going to work out really well for us. Jackie and I both aren’t real huge fans of the normal portrait. We’d prefer to have real-time, in-the-moment shots, and that’s what she seems to specialize in.
Also, when we met her she seemed really nice. She’s a young teacher-turned-photographer, who greeted us in a small studio in a part of downtown Tucson that I never knew existed, and offered us some ridiculously huge and sweet-looking pastries. Jackie was pretty much set at that point.
It’s finally happening. And this is the place to learn all about it.
First off, I’d like to give some thanks to Matt Mikuszewski (lovingly known as Choof), Colin Doody, and Phil Sierzega. These are the three exceptionally talented fellows that made this site happen.
This blog portion of the site will be the place to check for any news. We’ll have some accomodation information, as well as information about the venue, and Tucson in general. In case you’re new to the saga of Brian and Jackie, you can take a look at the Our Story section. We’ll also have some info on where we’re registered.
That’s about it for now. Keep checking the blog for any updates, and October will be here before we’ll all know it.
